Quality Assurance Engineer

Energy Storage and Optimization, a Wartsila business unit, is the leading provider of intelligent energy management software platform and energy storage turn-key system. Our mission is to enable clean energy generation through computing technologies.
We are seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer in Hyderabad, India to work with our teams headquartered in Herndon, Virginia, US and Mumbai, India.

 

Job Description  


•    Develop, implement, and execute test plans, test cases, and scripts for validating software functionality.
•    Conduct system integration testing, functional testing, regression testing.
•    Collaborate with developers and other stakeholders to understand product specifications and user requirements.
•    Create and maintain test documentation including test plans, test cases, and execution reports for clarity and traceability.
•    Identify, document, and track defects, working with developers to resolve them.
•    Assist in automating test processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
•    Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives.
•    Maintain effective communication with team members to ensure alignment on testing goals and progress.


Qualifications


•    B.S. Degree in Computer Science, Engineering (Computer, Electrical, Mechanical), or I.T.
•    At least 5 years of experience in software quality assurance and testing. 
•    Experience in functional, regression and integration testing.
•    Familiarity with system automation tools and testing frameworks.
•    Passionate about solution quality and 100% test coverage. Attention to details. 
•    Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools and processes.
•    Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•    Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
•    Willingness to adjust work hours to overlap with the working hours of the team members located abroad.  

 

Nice to have


•    Knowledge of programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python, or other scripting languages for automation is a plus. 
•    Any knowledge and/or interest in electrical concepts, power grids, renewable or green energy is always a plus.
•    Knowledge and experience of system automation and common tools and libraries.
