Workshop Technician

Workshop Technician

We are now looking for a Workshop Technician to join our forward-looking team. The position is permanent. The preferred location for the position is in Segensworth, United Kingdom. You must be able to commute 5 days per week.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Contribute to the execution workshop service tasks, such as: overhauls, reconditioning, modification, cleaning, and machining of various reciprocating engine components. Components include; cylinder heads, pistons, connecting rods, fuel injection equipment, auxiliary pumps, coolers, to name a few. The role requirements are varied and suitably challenging which keeps the role interesting.
  • Liaise closely with Team Leader and Senior Workshop Technician to ensure work scopes are kept within budget and specified delivery schedule. 
  • Ensure that all activities in the workshop and on-site are carried out in accordance with the site safety rules and in compliance with the Company’s Health and Safety standard ISO 45001/2018
  • Ensure that all work is carried out to ISO 9001/2015 standard.
  • Be an integral part of the workshop team. Strive to achieve common goals and customer deadlines, whereby working overtime hours may be required.
  • Adopt a pleasant, adaptable attitude towards any “ad-hoc” duties that may be required.
  • Always carry out all tasks in such a way as to ensure maximum (internal and external) satisfaction to the extent that this is within the employee’s control.
  • Undergo appropriate training to gain competencies with heavy lifting equipment; Forklift, overhead gantry cranes, component turning equipment.

 

You will shine in this role, when you have:

  • HND/HNC/ONC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Advanced Modern Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering. Inclusive of and NVQ level 3 and BTEC level 3 or equivalent.
  • If you have worked to ISO 45001/2018.
  • Experience in the Marine Sector and specifically overhauls, reconditioning, modification, cleaning, and machining reciprocating engine components.
