Project Engineer

We are looking for a Project Engineer to Wärtsilä Marine, Power Supply Customer Delivery in Wärtsilä China.

Project Engineer is responsible for executing the projects according to the Project Plan in close co-operation with the Project Manager. Projects consist mainly of contracted gensets, propulsion packages including main engines and/or propulsion systems with relevant auxiliary systems. Project Engineer is the communication link between the customers, internal and external suppliers in the projects.

 

Your main responsibilities are

- Project specific installation and system planning

- Manage (plan, steer, follow-up, analyze and report) contracted projects in close co-operation with the Project Manager

- Prepare and provide the customer with the project specific Documentation / information,

- Offer strong technical support to customer (shipyard, ship designer and ship owner) for contracted projects.

- Maintain the daily contacts with the customer in close co-operation with the Project Manager

- Provide technical support in the pre-project stage

- Mechanical or Electric technical / Engineering background.

- Readiness to travel as required

 

Education:

- Technical background (BSc or MSc in Mechanical or Electrical & Automation Engineering)

- Fluent skills in English, both oral and written

 

Experience:

- Minimum 3 years of working experience

- Practical experience from shipyard or shipbuilding industry, technical knowledge of diesel engines, propulsion, onboard marine and/or offshore installations will be considered as an important merit.
