We are now looking for an Alignment Service Engineer to join our new service team. The position is permanent and the location preferable in Asia, Europe or Middle East.
We are looking for a committed colleague with an interest in, and insight into alignment of vessels propulsion systems and related components, such as stern tubes, stern tube bearings, line shaft bearings, shafts, couplings, engines, gearboxes etc. We offer an exciting and challenging job in the maritime industry, where you will have a busy day with a lot of travel activity, where no two days are the same.
As Alignment Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the successful execution on-site of alignment measurements, corrections and adjustments of propulsion components, attend daily repair-meetings with customer, shipyard, contractors etc.
In this position, you will be reporting to the SLRS Service Expert.
Your main responsibilities are
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting of rotating machinery
- Measurement and alignment, primarily on propulsion systems on ships
- Analysis of measurement data.
- Participation in the commissioning of repaired installations globally.
- Technical trouble shooting in cooperation with colleagues and external clients
- Travel activity must be expected (approx. 180 days/year) domestic and abroad.
Main requirements in this role are
- Education as a Marine Engineer, Mechanical or similar.
- Relevant practical experience will be an advantage, but not a must.
- Proficiency in IT, including the Microsoft Office suite.
- Good English skills, oral and written.
- Flexible and persistent approach to the tasks performed in an inter-organizational environment.
- Commercial flair and business understanding.
- You are a passionate soul who is passionate about what you do and is not afraid to take action yourself, you are independent and self-driving.
- Being a team player with good teamwork skills and a sense of situation.
- Being persistent and quality-conscious in your work and having the interest and professionalism for this type of specialist tasks.
- You thrive in an environment sometimes under pressure to meet customer deadlines.
