Sales Engineer

Sales Engineer - Electrical & Power Management Systems (E&PMS) -  Shanghai, China 

 

We in EPMS are the lead business line within Wartsila when it comes to decarbonization as well as hybridization of the shipping industry. 
We are one of the leading companies worldwide providing Electrical solution for shipping such as PTO system, Diesel electric propulsion

system, Hybrid systems, shore connection system and PMS/EMS system. 


For our growing organization in China we are looking for a Sales Engineer. The successful applicant will take report to line manager of the

Global Sales Engineering team. In addition to this, you will work alongside with Marine Power sales engineering team and take the role of

interface to internal Marine Power stakeholders such as Business Lines and sales tools development teams.

 

Position Description:


The successful applicant will take responsibility on a project by project basis for Sales Engineering primarily related to PTO, diesel Electric Power Systems

and Hybrid systems within the EPMS Sales Engineering team.

 

Responsibilities include: 


•    Bid management (communication with global sales, customers, making technical selections, single line diagrams, cost calculations,

     configurations, specifications and Quotations), either standalone or in bundles/solutions. 
•    Presenting and negotiating Technical Proposals with customers.
•    Responsible for product deviation lists 
•    Making Document Delivery Schedules, weight lists, responsibility matrices, etc. for contract finalisation 
•    Responsible for the technical integrity and correctness of the offered solution in the sales phase.

     Accountable for correct cost estimates. 


Desired Skills:


•    Strong organizational skills, focused on achieving results as a team effort
•    Continuous improvement and Operational Excellence mindset 
•    Good understand of EPMS products and systems (especially variable speed drives including DC Bus applications) and basic

     understanding of other EPMS Products such as shaft generator systems, shore connections and energy management systems
•    Good understanding of customer and its business 
•    Experience in multicultural working environment 
•    Excellent Communication skills 
•    Cost awareness & effectiveness 


Desired Qualifications:


•    Masters or bachelor’s degree (Technical)
•    Previous experience in sales or sales engineering is beneficial 
•    Previous experience in shipping industry is beneficial
•    Fluency in English and Chinese language
