Sales Proposal Engineer

Your main responsibilities are:

  • Coordinating proposal creation with internal & external stakeholders for assigned cases.
  • Promoting high quality leads from Lead to Opportunity with the Sales team.
  • Present, explain the scope of supply to customer and negotiate the scope of supply and terms of offer with the customer in alignment with local sales.
  • Quality of Sales proposals and time to respond to Sales enquiries
  • Creation of high-quality sales proposals for Parts, FS and package solutions for 4S Engine and propulsion Products & Services addressing customer needs. Preparation of sales proposals and supporting presentation material & documents and support B & C class projects where applicable
  • Utilise defined sales tools (FSQM, AQUA, CRM, SAP, PDMIT, WPLM reporting ...) in preparation of proposals.
  • Feel accountable for business impact and act to adjust when needed.
  • Contributor towards a good team spirit and dynamics.
  • Distinctive systemic / analytical work style - independent and solution-oriented good Time management & efficient organizational skills with dynamic workload.
  • Have possess strong negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Feel accountable for business impact and act to adjust when needed.
  • Good knowledge of Wärtsilä products and solutions, preferably engines & propulsion.
  • Fluent speaking Chinese and English for read and write are required.

 

Skills and Competencies:

  • At least 15 years related experienced in technical or sales support of marine related work experience and have an entrepreneurial mind set and sales or technical affinity.- Excellent Knowledge of marine engineering, ship equipment & power production systems.
  • Familiar with and understand Wartsila products and the relevant systems within Wartsila company.
  • Systematically evaluate case specific up sale, upgrade and update sales potential.
  • Quality of proposal preparation activities on assigned opportunities, creating and developing the scope of offer in co-operation with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent skills and capability to present and discuss proposals and products to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent understanding of margin and cost calculation and pricing strategies.
  • Excellent knowledge of impact and variation of different commercial and legal terms.
