We are looking for an Automation Engineer to join Wärtsilä’s PCS team in Shanghai.

In this role, you will contribute to the development, preparation, and maintenance of software applications for propulsion control systems. You will also play a key part in supporting production, commissioning, and field service activities.

Your main responsibilities are

• Develop, maintain, and improve software for PCS products
• Prepare, validate, and release software packages for automation systems (PLC and HMI)
• Provide support during production, testing, and commissioning phases
• Assist service engineers with troubleshooting and customer support activities
• Collaborate closely with engineering, production, and product development teams to ensure high-quality deliverables

You will shine in this role when you have:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, electronics, automation, or a related field
• Understanding and/or hands-on experience with electrical, automation, or embedded systems
• Strong programming skills (C/C++, Python, or similar languages)
• Familiarity with version control systems and software testing practices
• Proficiency in both Chinese and English (written and spoken)
• Ability to work effectively in an international, multidisciplinary team
