We are looking for a Service Coordinator who takes care of managing and planning of Field Service and Workshops activities according to customer needs and contracts as well as quality, health, safety and environmental and cost targets, and ensuring customer satisfaction in all activities.

This is a permanent role located in Shanghai, China, reporting to FS Operations Manager.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Coordinates field service activities, ensuring efficient and effective deployment of services and resources to meet customer needs and operational demands.
  • Coordinates and schedules field service operations, aligning team efforts with customer requirements and service standards.
  • Collaborates with customers and other external stakeholders and acts as a point of contact for field service teams, facilitating communication and shared awareness between technicians, customers, and relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitors field service activities to ensure compliance with safety protocols, service standards, and operational processes as well as customer policies, guidelines and regulations.
  • Coordinates and assists for the resolution of technical and operational issues, providing support and guidance to field service personnel.
    Travels/visits different locations, shipyards and customers, etc. for site safety, job coordination, promotion of Wartsila services, creation of more job opportunities and orders, etc.
  • Costs/man-hours’ estimation, proactively supports service offer preparation.
  • Monitors and controls service margin on work order, proactively initiates cost saving actions.
  • Contributes to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and implementing enhancements to field service processes.
  • Prepares FS work order for invoicing, debriefing, etc., maintains accurate records of field service activities, including resource allocation, service delivery timelines, and customer feedback, etc.
  • Contributes to teams' performance by coordinating field service activities on a broader area while ensuring quality and accuracy of work, with an impact on project-wide outcomes and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Possesses proficient technical and operational knowledge of field service, system tools and processes, advising others on carrying out procedures and tasks in field service.
  • Identifies and supports modifications to current systems and processes in field service, providing operational insights.
  • Coordinates field service activities and collaborates actively across teams, organizing workloads to meet team targets. Develops a professional network across the company.
  • Channels and shares information on internal/external needs, training relevant stakeholders on subject-related content within field service.

 

Main requirements:

  • Strong safety-first mind-set.
  • Technical background related to Marine Electrical & Automation/Mechanical Engineering with field service/commissioning experience is preferred.
  • Good communication/negotiation/coordination skills and customer understanding.
  • Good organizational skills and customer empathy, combined with a strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
  • Demonstrable team working skills and the ability to adjust and re-plan in dynamic situations.
  • Strong Cost awareness & effectiveness.
  • Loyalty to the company, strong mental and stress tolerance, strong ability to delegate, follow directions and work under pressure.
  • Good filing management, good reporting and analysing skills.
  • Fluent in oral and writing both Mandarin & English (CET4 or equivalent/above).
  • Bachelor’s degree or above.
