Your main responsibilities are

  • Perform commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and field service activities for Propulsion systems, with a primary focus on electrical, control, and automation systems.
  • Execute testing, commissioning, and functional verification of control systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical, automation, and system integration issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Prepare accurate and complete service, commissioning, and troubleshooting reports.
  • Collect and document technical data during service activities to support reporting and future analysis.
  • Ensure all electrical commissioning activities are carried out in accordance with company procedures.
  • Use and maintain company tools, measuring instruments, and testing equipment according to established work practices.
  • Maintain accurate timesheets, expense records, and service documentation to support project execution and customer invoicing.
  • Build and maintain positive customer relationships through professional service delivery and effective communication.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by providing high-quality technical support and timely problem resolution.
  • Comply with all company regulations, work instructions, quality requirements, and safety procedures.
  • Strictly follow HSE requirements and correctly use all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Support other service and commissioning activities as assigned.

 

You will shine in this role when you have:

  • Good command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills for electrical and automation systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with PLC-based control systems, VFDs, sensors, instrumentation, and marine automation systems.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within China and internationally when required.
  • Customer-oriented mindset with a proactive and service-focused attitude.

 

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Automation Engineering, Marine Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.

 

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical commissioning, field service, automation, or marine electrical systems.
  • Experience in marine, shipbuilding, offshore, power generation, or other heavy industries is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with propulsion control systems, shaft line monitoring systems, seal and bearing monitoring systems, VFDs, PLCs, or marine automation systems is highly desirable.
  • Experience working onboard vessels, at shipyards, or during commissioning projects is an advantage.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of marine classification society requirements and marine electrical standards.
  • Experience with Wärtsilä propulsion products, control systems, or marine integrated automation systems is a strong advantage.
  • Ability to perform commissioning and troubleshooting independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
