To provide commissioning, field services and customer support for a range of constantly updated Wartsila products.
Your Main Responsibilities:
- Carry out automation service and commissioning of Wartsila equipment and systems.
- Undertake installation surveys and assessments. Carry out maintenance and repairs to company equipment as required.
- Provide timely reports and accurate feedback on all after-sales service and commissioning activities.
- Assist the engineering department and customers with installation, planning & design.
- Provide recommendations for the improvement of company systems, specifications, installation and operating procedures.
- Represent the company's interests and promote the company values while interacting with external parties.
- Provide emergency 'out of hours' contact and support.
- Be familiar with and comply with the company's policies. Promote compliance with policies relating to health, safety and environmental matters.
- Work in a manner that promotes the company's values.
- Management may require other similar or related duties to be performed at certain times, which are outside the terms of this job description.
You will shine in this role when you have:
- A good general electrical and automation process or marine engineering background.
- A good knowledge of electronic and PLC control systems. (WAGO, Siemens, Mitsubishi)
- Qualifications in marine or process engineering to HNC or an equivalent level. Appropriate experience would be considered as an alternative.
- Good written and verbal communications skills in Chinese and English.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a shipyard / shipboard environment.
- Aware of the demands of working with diverse cultures.
- Contributes positively to a team.
- Competent in use of PC software, including MS office and other communication tools.
- Displays a systematic approach to problem evaluation and resolution.
- A willingness to travel inside China frequently and outside of China if necessary.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree minimum in Electrical/Marine Engineering
Experience:
- 3-5 years' work experience in marine industries or other heavy industries, field service.
