Technical Sales Manager

We are looking for a Technical Sales Manager to join Wartsila ANCS (Automation Navigation Control System) business unit of Sales China team. The ideal person for this role should have solid automation product knowledge both on hardware and software mainly for Monitoring & Alarm System and Propulsion Control System.

 

As a Technical Sales Manager you will be responsible for promoting and selling Automation products and will drive details technical discussions with customers and other ANCS sales managers as well as product team.

 

You will provide technical and commercial support for Automation opportunities towards our customers.

This position is preferred located in Shanghai China, but other locations in China may also be considered.

 

 Your main responsibilities are:

  • To actively visit Chinese shipyards and Chinese shipowners in China.
  • To support local Sales Managers for technical discussion with customer.
  • Prepare the sales offerings, including the formulation of technical and commercial documentation for solution proposals based on customer requirements (on the spot if needed)
  • Determine and tailor the content and scope of solutions, based on discussions with our customers
  • Create and entertain strong relationship with new build shipyards and owners in China
  • Promote Automation products by making presentations to customers
  • Create, improve and tailor our Automation products value propositions
  • Influence customer decision making
  • Regular exchange of information and alignment of the sales projects with the local Customer delivery team and Sales team
  • Regular exchange of information and training of Automation products updated functions with global product team

 

You will shine in this role when you have:

  • All aspects of line & resource management in his/her organization.
  • Build up and develop the relationship with customers in defined area, including ship owners, ship designers, shipyards, Identify and develop relationships with potential & existing customers.
  • Coordinate bid management to internal and external customers according to set processes and KPIs.
  • Ensure dedicated sales process and tools are being utilized in cooperation with project management team.
  • Participate in project meetings and securing customer communication together with project management teams.
  • Support Market Segment teams with information enabling market penetration and growth.
  • Coordinate with Marketing department the participation at tradeshows, industry conferences as well as support the Marketing department with content for publications for the assigned area with the aim to generate new business leads.

 

Your profile Key Requirements:

  • Marine engineering or related educational background.
  • Minimum 10+ years working experience in marine industry Sales, Technical is preferred.
  • Very good product and sales knowledge of Automation system and solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Fluent in English (written and oral).
  • Willingness to frequently travel international and domestic.
  • Be able to work under pressure.
