We are looking for a person for a Tender Manager role. The role includes global responsibility to coordinate Offshore Oil and Gas Production projects technical bidding activities.
Additionally the role includes supporting in risk management and risk mitigation of key sales projects.
As a Tender Manager you take responsibility of preparing the technical bid documentation package of selected complex oil and gas production projects in order to deliver compliant and competitive offers. You are supported by cross organizational resource pool. This role requires extensive 10 years+ experience and specific knowledge on preparation of technical deviations and supporting documentation of engines to comply with international oil and gas production project requirements.
We are looking for an ambitious and energetic person to coach the cross organizational bidding team and true offshore oil and gas engine bidding process expert with demonstrated results and background.
Meanwhile, help local sales engineers to complete sales support work in spare time, including specification preparation and negotiation, cost accounting and quotation making.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver technical bid document package for Offshore Oil and Gas Production projects
- Analyze and present the risks, as well risks mitigation plan particularly for the Offshore Oil and Gas Production projects, but as well incorporate in other high risk projects
- Manage and utilize cross organizational technical bidding resource pool
- Boost sales
- Drive development for the way of working in offshore projects
- Proactively challenge the organization to work in a simpler and more efficient manner
- Ensure function delivers accurate costing for solutions and installation costing for projects
- Increase customer understanding
- Closely collaborate with Global Sales to increase understanding of customer needs
- Closely collaborate with Customer Delivery to increase order intake margin and reduce margin deviation at handover to delivery
- Closely collaborate with Product Management to improve portfolio to fulfil market needs
- Presenting and negotiating Technical Proposals with customers.
- Responsible for product deviation lists
- Responsible for the technical integrity and correctness of the offered solution in the sales phase. Accountable for correct cost estimates.
- NSR handling, Responsible for technical support pre-evaluations, to be handled in the respective product lines. Follow up of NSRs, analyse and discuss frequently re-occurring NSR's to be included in standard.
QUALIFICATIONS
Desired Skills:
- Good understanding of Engine products and basic understanding of other MPS products, preferable experience in power system integration.
- Good understanding of customer and its business
- Excellent Communication skills
- Strong analytical thinking capability and excellent communication skills in English, verbal and written.
- Good AutoCAD, Excel and PPT skills
- Cost awareness & effectiveness
Education:
Educated to Bachelors or Masters level in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent.
Experience:
A minimum of 10 years working as an engineer either within Wartsila or elsewhere in the marine industry is desirable.Why you and us
