What will you be doing
In this position, you will be involved in technical topics related to engine manufacturing, testing and commissioning. To be able to give a rapid onsite support for JVs (CWEC and WQDC), you will be located within the JV premises in Lingang (临港) industrial area having access to the production facility. You will not be working on this alone, even though the work requires a high level of independency. Having a strong collaboration with teams both within the JV company and in Wärtsilä is a part of the daily job.
As Product engineer, your work will focus on these responsibilities:
- Support JVs in examining the non-conformities (V2) when related to design or Product specifications, providing immediate answers and/or following up the resolution from Wärtsilä
- Technical support to JV Depts. When clarifications are needed regarding product engineering documentation
- Support JVs in making RCAs and technical investigations when needed
- Provide technical support during FAT and conduct measurements such as thermoscan.
- Coordinate and support special engine tests in JVs such as TC matching and EIAPP tests in collaboration with RDE
- Attending PIP meetings to report JV issues and receive improvement suggestions for JV manufacturing
- Supporting JV with Wärtsilä systems access and training (NSR tool, Sharepoint, JV configurator, infoboard, QDMS)
You will shine in this role, when you have:
- B.Sc. in Engineering or equivalent
- Flexibility and the ability to work both in teams and independently
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Excellent in oral and written English
- Strong self-management, organizational skills, and quality thinking
- Knowledge of Wärtsilä products (Understanding technical drawings and engine functionality)
- A sense of urgency and ability to work independently and take decisions under stress
- Good knowledge of MS-office, ERP systems (SAP) and basic PDM systems (Teamcenter) is seen as an advantage.
