(Senior) Sales Manager, Marine Project Sales

We are now looking for an experienced (Senior) Sales Manager, Marine Project Sales in Marine to join our team in Singapore. This position is a permanent opportunity, and its location is Pandan Crescent, Singapore reporting to the General Manager, Marine Projects Sales.

What will you be doing:
As (Senior) Sales Manager, Marine, your work will focus on these responsibilities:

  • Capture Team Leader (CTL) roles. Lead consultative selling, build specific sales strategy, and motivate the assemble teams.
  • Lead the development of Marine decarbonisation, turning it to tangible Wärtsilä offering.
  • Apply Consultative Sales Approach to increase chance to win, to increase deal size and to shorten the sales cycle.
  • Turn validated “high priority” opportunities into won deals for both NB and Retrofit Projects.
  • Focus on complex and high value new build and retrofit Projects.
  • Promote and include Life-Cycle solutions from early New Build sales project engagement.
  • Ensure CRM data quality for sales projects and opportunities. Sales funnel and pipeline management within the responsibility
  • Capable of engaging and navigate external stakeholders at C-level executive
  • Define what and how will Wärtsilä collaborate an integrate its offering into selected customers’ sustainability New Build & Retrofit plans at fleet level (consultative simulation).
  • Capable in interact with a wide range of external stakeholders from oil major companies, charterers, ship designers, ship owners to shipyards.
  • Maintain the tasks and responsibilities related to assigned projects in achieving the sales targets and objectives set for the sub-region.
  • Actively collaboration in a cross-functional matrix in Marine Business to capture opportunities.
  • Keeping effective communication to all relevant stakeholders. i.e. Sales Regions, Business Units, Legal, Project Management, Integration Systems & Solutions, etc.
  • Lead contract negotiation.
  • Ensure risk mitigation actions are taken and the internal Sales Contract directive and Policy are followed.


To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

  • Have relevant education, preferably MSc in Mechanical/Electrical/Marine Engineering, or equivalent, 7+  year work experience with proven track record as Capture Team Lead role in successfully leading capture teams in complex Projects Sales.
  • Consultative selling approach and mindset
  • International and open-minded mentality
  • Solid understanding of Wartsila offering portfolio and solution offering
  • Strong customer focus and capability of building strategic customer relationships.
  • Strong business and results-orientation
  • Strong negotiation skill, communication, coaching and people skills.
  • Business intelligence and knowledge for the area of Decarbonisation in Marine Industry, New Build and Retrofit
  • Strong track record of negotiating complex sales projects.
  • Lead the large stakeholder group and Project Sales Team towards the goals.
  • In depth understanding of Customers’ business, KPI’s and financial earning models (good segment understanding required)

 

Main Requirements:

 

  • Ability of being a true collaborator, consultative selling and co-create projects with variety of both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Versatile working experience of capture team selling with proven track record of leading/developing/closing complex/strategic marine new build and retrofit projects.
  • Ensure Sales processes and governance models are followed up and ensuring contracting quality.
  • Multicultural sensitivity, ability to build relations and lead multi-cultural team.
