Wärtsilä Energy Business is looking for an Area Marketing Manager for the Middle East and Asia (MEA) Area.

 

The preferred location is one of the Energy Business’s locations in Middle East and Asia, preferably Singapore. In this position you will report to the Market Development Director and be part of the Growth & Development organisation.

 

Job Description

 

Area Marketing Manager is to lead the marketing activities in the area Middle East and Asia (MEA) and to support and enhance market development efforts with accountability for developing customized content for selected target markets and target groups, building and managing channels in them, and organizing event participation in order to accelerate medium and long-term sales of Wärtsilä Energy Business and services in. It is also accountable for specific support required by Market Development and Project Developments to influence selected target groups, customers and key stakeholders. In this position you will work in close cooperation with the area sales, Market Development and the global marketing functions of Energy Business organisation.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Create and manage marketing strategy for MEA, covering full scope of energy solutions and services
  • Set measurable performance indicators
  • Identify and prioritize target audiences
  • Customize value propositions for each market and target group
  • Build and manage the MEA Area Marketing team
  • Define business needs, plan and execute recruitment of marketing specialists as required. Lead and coach the team for high performance in organizing and managing events, media and PR channels, content creation, etc.
  • Set transparent performance measurements
  • Develop internal relationships to leverage the team output (Market Development, Project Development, Business Development, Services, Area Sales, Central Marketing, etc.)
  • Engage with (local) authorities (e.g. regulators, policy developers) to represent Wärtsilä. Participate in public discussions on emerging policies and regulations in various countries and make oral/written submissions that argue for enabling framework to capture our value proposition
  • Participate in developing market and/or customer specific value proposition and related messaging in close co-operation with sales, Market Development, global marketing and business development. Marketing campaigns need to be tailored to suit the context of specific countries.
  • Communicate and share success stories and new developments- internally and externally.
  • Prioritize, lead and coordinate market specific marketing actions in order to support Area Sales, Services, Market Development and Project Development
  • Creation of strategic and tactical content
  • Plan and execute media and PR activities locally
  • Develop the content and the ‘story’ necessary for the market communications.
  • Marketing and communication channels
  • Define digital marketing activities
  • Define, plan and execute local F2F events, webinars seminars, conferences
  • Create marketing methods and processes adapted to MEA Area
  • Propose and manage the MEA marketing budget

 

As an ideal candidate you would have

 

  • Demonstrated successful experience in international B2B marketing
  • Relevant business experience in MEA
  • Understanding of utility and power generation/power system business and related value networks. Expertise in creating content, and its adaptation to specific audiences
  • Understanding on managing marketing channels, including digital and social media
  • Excellent communication, influencing and public speaking skills
  • Leadership skills as well as experience in leading and managing people & teams
  • Persuasive and Value Based Selling
  • Fluent in English. Bahasa Indonesia, Mandarin and Arabic are considered as an advantage
  • University degree in marketing, business, energy technology, power generation, or similar is seen as beneficial
