Associate Legal Counsel, Wärtsilä Marine Legal & Compliance

Wärtsilä Marine Legal & Compliance is seeking an Associate Legal Counsel for our Marine Business in the Middle East and Asia.

 

This position reports to the Managing Counsel, Middle East and Asia, Marine Legal & Compliance. It offers excellent career opportunities, international exposure, and a dynamic, rewarding working environment supported by comprehensive training.

 

This is a permanent position located at Pandan Crescent, Singapore.

 

About the Position:

 

As a member of the global Marine Legal & Compliance team, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing legal advice to the sales and project delivery teams.
  • Negotiating and drafting international and local sales contracts and other legal documents.
  • Implementing Wärtsilä’s legal & compliance policies and guidelines.
  • Managing disputes (litigation & claims).
  • Providing legal training.
  • Supporting local corporate governance matters.

 

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • LLB and/or LLM.
  • Qualified to practice law in Singapore.
  • 3-5 years of experience in law firms or multinational companies.
  • Fluent in English to communicate with internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Self-starter, proactive, and self-motivated.
  • Strong mindset in risk management.
  • Assertive and capable of making tough decisions.
  • Autonomous and able to work independently.
