Senior Accountant

We are now looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team, Financial Statutory Accounting Services. The position is a permanent opportunity. The preferred location for the position is in Singapore.
 
What will you be doing;
As Senior Accountant, your work will focus on these responsibilities:

  • Proactively prepare and support company level reporting, according to Wärtsilä Corporation accounting manual, guidelines and local accounting requirements. 
  • Period end closing activities on company level in SAP and HFM. 
  • Assist in external auditing, internal auditing and internal control reporting of the company. 
  • Support financial standard material to the company stakeholders to performance key measures defined by FSAS.     
  • Computing monthly CIT Tax & Defer tax related calculations per Accounting Standard, postings & preparing tax schedule. 
  • Support indirect taxes declaration and co-ordination. 
  • Engage ad-hoc special projects and provide recommendations on overall improvements in the general ledger system by researching and assessing standardized workflow procedures and policies. 
  • Support and participate in Wärtsilä Shared Services Centre (WSSC) activities/projects in relate to account payables, payments, travel and vendor master data etc. 
  • Support and prepare annual financial report in the region in local GAAP. 
  • Research and assess standardized workflow procedures and policies. 
  • Support FSAS's project & activities by working together closely with other colleagues in the Group 

 

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have: 

  • Strong financial statutory accounting knowledge. 
  • Accounting taxation & taxation laws
  • 5 to 7 years of work experience in financial accounting and taxation role 
  • Systematic, independent and organised way of working and a positive attitude
  • Strong teamwork and good communication skills , including written and spoken English.
  • A degree in Finance/Accounting or related field is a must
  • If you are familiar with SAP, it is seen as an added advantage.
