Senior Technical Expert, 2-Stroke

To strengthen our expertise and capacity in the 2-Stroke products and related ancillary systems in South East Asia, we are now looking for a skilled Senior Technical Expert to join our team in Singapore. The Technical Services is one of the most important technical knowledge centers within the service organization in Wärtsilä, supporting internal and external stakeholders during the life cycle of products and solutions delivered or serviced by Wärtsilä.

 

As a Senior Technical Expert in Wärtsilä Technical Services, you will find yourself in the technical heart of exciting world of Maritime and Energy industry. You will report to General Manager, Technical Services Singapore.

 

The Senior Technical Expert ensures customer satisfaction by providing high quality and on-time technical support.

 

You will:

  • Be responsible for handling of customer inquiries in a comprehensive and supportive manner
  • Participate/contribute in product development activities
  • Be active in capturing new sales opportunities (leads)
  • Follow the relevant specialist environment - both internally and externally - through literature, research and contact with other businesses
  • Technical consulting and support for customers and internal stakeholders

  • Conduct regular product and service info sessions

  • Manage the area L1 Technical Service team jointly with other technical experts, technical managers and the head of global 2S technical service

  • Participate/perform in Root Cause Analysis and perform expert technical field investigations and screening of field service reporting

 

An ideal canddiate should have the following attributes:

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Engineering or in Marine, Mechanical or other applicable technical degree
  • At least 3+ years of working experience with 2 Stroke mechanics and machinery controls
  • Relevant experience of other Wärtsilä products is a strong plus
  • A true team player with a proactive approach and solid technical reporting skills
  • Customer focused with a service minded attitude
  • Fluent in English, both verbally and written
  • Advanced problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to travel
