Customer Centricity is at the core of our services in Voyage Solution Services (VSS). We are responsible for the automation, navigation and ​communication-related service activities globally. We have more than 370 professionals located in 16 Countries.


In Singapore, our VSS team performs maintenance, upgrade and retrofit on Wärtsilä SAM, Lynsoe and Valmarine products onboard both commercial and naval vessels. Apart from Singapore, we support the Middle-East and in the Asia region too.


We are now looking for a Service Engineer who is skilled in Automation products to join our VSS team in Singapore.


<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">About the position

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">In this position, your responsibilities include, but not limited, to the following:

  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Attending ships in terminal, anchorage, shipyard for repair, installation, troubleshooting services.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Report and documentation as per company procedures (E.g. Update of Software, database, etc.).
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Timely completion of technical and service work report  
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Conducting fault-finding process and resolve the technical issue onboard as appropriate.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Providing technical support both onsite and remotely for Wärtsilä Voyage Solutions product to the customer.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Providing support to coordinators.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Ensuring that the work is executed according to Wärtsilä Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental guidelines and customer site procedures.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Ad-hoc duties as assigned by manager.


<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">As an ideal candidate, you should have:

  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">At least a Diploma in Electrical and/or Electronics Engineering or related field with at least three years of relevant experience
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Experience in programming, commissioning and service of Marine Automation PLC systems.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Experience in the hardware and software for the DP system, PLC programming (ladder diagram) logic, Moxa switches and control system.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Good understanding of azimuth and bow thrusters.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Experience with industrial network and serial interface protocols such as Modbus and Canbus.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Excellent product knowledge in Lynsoe’s Automation (Engine Governor, Manoeuvring) System.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Good communication and teamwork skills.
