We see a strategic value of training services providing the global customer base knowledge and proficient skills to operate our products and solutions both on a roll-out stage and through the product lifecycle.

We believe that the modern training industry is very much driven by distance learning and WEB technologies and want to scale these innovations to the maritime segment. We are looking for a manager with commercial experience in the development of modern blended learning techniques to meet this exciting challenge.


In this position you will be required to:

  • Lead development and implementation of training products and services towards global market of Wartsila customers. This should be done with a main focus on WEB technologies and subscription delivery schemes.
  • Grow number of operator trainings delivered annually.
  • Grow revenue generated by semi- and fully automated training services.
  • Work closely with and build strong relationships with relevant internal departments to define long-term organizational strategic goals relating to the Training Department.
  • Identify and implement “ready to train” packages for our simulator products.
  • Build key customer relationships, identify business opportunities.
  • Meet and predict the organization’s and clients’ future training needs.
  • Implementation of blended learning strategies.
  • Extensive knowledge of current market conditions. (training will be given)
  • Oversee the planning and utilization of the Training Academy.
  • Academy budget management and staff performance appraisals.
  • Travelling worldwide at least on a quarterly basis.
