We are now looking for a Leading Software Development Engineer to join our forward-looking team.

This is a permanent role, the preferable location is Saint-Petersburg, Russia (fully remote is also possible).

You will join our Fleet Operations Solutions team to work on its key product - UNINAV Planner. FOS (Fleet Operating system) is the key product of Connected Marine Product group in Voyage.

There are 2 parts in the product: Web and Desktop. Key element of Desktop part is Navi Planner 5000 (or UNINAV Planner). It is a new onboard tool for voyage planning, charts and publications ordering and weather optimization.

We use SCRUM, candidate will be part of SCRUM team focused on our product. We use git repository (Github), pre-commit code review, build server based on Jenkins, JIRA as bug tracking, task management and project management tool. Company-wide communications are in English, but internal communications in UNINAV Planner team are in Russian.

 

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

  • Strong and deep knowledge of C++, including actual C++ standard
  • Development experience 5+ years, though candidates with less experience but good skills will be considered as well
  • Design patterns
  • STL, Boost
  • English - intermediate

 

You will shine in this role if:

  • Cross-platform development skills (we release Windows products currently, but changes are possible and product core is crossplatform)
  • Experience in multithreading
  • OpenGL knowledge
  • Qt skills (we use Qt only in UI, not in backend)
  • Skills of Windows Installer package development and support.
