Senior Engineer

Are you interested in joining us to develop new green technology within the maritime industry and enable a more sustainable future?

We are now looking to strengthen our team with a new Senior Electrical Engineer.

As a Senior Electrical Engineer you will be a part of the development of environmental technologies required to make the shipping industry more sustainable. This area of expertise is rapidly growing and will give you exciting opportunities and the possibility to influence future developments.
Wärtsilä is aiming to support our customers on their decarbonisation journey towards a more sustainable future in the marine and energy industry and have committed to finding solutions enabling the use of zero-carbon fuel before 2030.
We want to be a contributor towards achieving the sustainability goals and have set the requirements of reducing our own CO2 emissions by 20% in 2023.
Our customers within the maritime and offshore industry are supplied with complex energy systems during this journey, and Wärtsilä assists them with supplying both conventional propulsion systems as well as battery and hybrid systems with high power and low pollution.
Our preferred candidate has a broad electrical understanding and is curious about new technology. We are looking for someone who has a desire to join us on our decarbonisation journey.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher within electrical engineering, preferably with rotating machinery as the main field
  • Good knowledge regarding generator systems, propulsion systems, drives and integrators
  • Knowledge within maritime electrical construction

You will be a great match to our team if you are interested in:

  • The decarbonisation of shipping
  • Advanced electrical solutions
  • New technology
  • Working together as a team
  • Complex tasks

You will be working in a team with broad experience and competence in areas such as electricity, electronics, and automation. We deliver complete systems with electrical panels, rotating machines, drives, AVR, UPS, testing and documentation. This is a great opportunity to learn and develop yourself as part of a future-proof environment.

Feel free to contact System & Integration Manager Steinar Austefjord (steinar.austefjord@Wärtsilä.com or på phone +47 915 32 509) if you would like to know more about the position.
