We are hiring 2 students from all technical business fields to work with us located in Stord, Norway.

What you will be doing
All work in Engineering and Technology is guided by the Wärtsilä Way as well as our task-related targets, safety guidelines, and quality standards. Continuous development and innovation are a part of daily tasks, so you will also get the chance to help us develop our operations within your responsibility area.
We are looking for motivated, curious, and solution-focused students that share our ambitions towards decarbonisation and making a difference. We value team players with the ability to cooperate in an environment that supports diversity and inclusion.
Hybrid engineering and software development cover departments Hybrid Engineering and Energy & Power Management Systems (EPMS), and your work assignments can be related to:
- Hybrid Automation & Controls
- EPMS Software development (PLC, computers, HMI)
- System network configuration, setup and testing
- Modelling and simulation (MATLAB/Simulink, Python)
- Sustainable Fuels & Decarbonisation
- And much more
As an ideal candidate, you have:
- On-going studies in a relevant field (B.Sc. Or M.Sc. in Control engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, Information Technology, Energy Technology, Software Development).
- Written and spoken fluency in English & good communication and documentation skills.
- Active, result-oriented attitude towards work and the ability to see the big picture.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Systematic, analytical and detail-focused way of working.
- An ability to work independently and effectively on multiple tasks.
- Experience with some software tools: Matlab/Simulink, PLC’s, .NET/C#, Python, or any similar.
Please note that mentioned knowledge and skills are examples and applicable to different roles. You are not expected to cover all of these.
