We are now looking for a

 

Apprentice Continuous Improvement Engineer - V8X Line

 

to join our team on a 6 month temporary contract - starting Januar 2025. 

 

The preferred location for the position is in Surgères, France. 

 

What will you be doing 


Adopting a continuous improvement approach and deploying Lean management tools in the field and leading continuous improvement projects on the workshop's military production line.

 

As Apprentice Continuous Improvement Engineer your work will focus on these responsibilities: 

 

  • Main project 
    • V8X flow mapping
    • Immerse yourself in the workshop, in contact with the teams, and on all the operations realised on the military scope in order to quickly identify the posts with added value creation.
    • Reference and characterise these workstations (load/capacity, Tack time, waiting time, bottleneck, etc.) and the flows (push, pull, safety stock, etc.).
    • Mapping the value chain for the entire process (VSM)
    • As part of a continuous improvement approach, highlighting areas of weakness and proposing an associated action plan to managers.
    • Provide an outside view and make proposals for a more comprehensive reorganisation of the way our process operates.
    • Propose one or more simplified visual support(s) for this cartography, dedicated to communication and staff training.
  • Example of secondary projects
    • Optimise engine dismantling and reassembly times to meet annual targets
    • Analysing the causes of non-quality and proposing corrective actions
    • Improve operations planning
    • Ensure reliable delivery of parts for engine reassembly
    • Optimise mechanics' workstations
    • Creation of support documents for mechanics (training aids, ranges, etc.)

 

To be successful in this role we expect you to have:

 

  • Ongoing studies at an engineering school via a sandwich course or equivalent at BAC+5 level.
  • Ideally focused on industrial engineering - Lean management - Industrial performance. 
  • Professional experience in an industrial environment, ideally in a production and/or continuous improvement department.
  • Minimum intermediate level of English (B1-B2). IT environment in English. 
  • Microsoft 365 suite. Mainly Excel and Macro-VBA would be a plus.
  • Knowledge of the main principles of Continuous Improvement (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen).
  • Knowledge of ERP would be a plus. 
  • General technical skills in mechanics.
  • Good interpersonal skills. The ability to interact easily with the whole organisation is essential.
  • Autonomy and initiative. 
  • Enjoy working in a team. 
  • A taste for working in the field. 
  • Enjoy learning from your colleagues.
  • Have a critical approach and be able to make suggestions and an interest in industrial production and the possibility of a career in this field would be a real asset.

Qu'est-ce que tu vas faire

 

Adopter une démarche d’amélioration continue et déployer les outils de Lean management sur le terrain et pilotage de chantiers d’amélioration continue sur la ligne de production militaire de l’atelier.

 

En tant que Apprenti(e) Ingénieur Amélioration Continue  votre travail se concentrera sur les missions suivantes:

 

  • Projet principal
    • Cartographie des flux V8X
    • S’immerger dans l’atelier, au contact avec les équipes, et sur l’ensemble des opérations réalisées sur le scope militaire afin d’identifier rapidement les postes à création de valeur ajoutée.
    • Référencer et caractériser ces postes (charge/capa, Tack time, temps d’attente, goulot…) et les flux (poussés, tirés, stock de sécu…)
    • Cartographier la chaîne de valeur de l’ensemble du processus (VSM)
    • Dans une démarche d’amélioration continue, mettre en avant les points de fragilités et proposer aux responsables de services un plan d’actions associés.
    • Apporter un regard extérieur et être force de proposition sur une réorganisation plus globale du fonctionnement de notre process.
    • Proposer un ou plusieurs support(s) visuel(s) simplifié(s) de cette cartographie dédiée à la communication et formation des collaborateurs
  • Exemple de projets secondaires : 
    • Optimisation des temps de démontage et de remontage des moteurs pour garantir les objectifs annuels
    • Analyser les causes de non-qualité et proposer des actions correctives
    • Amélioration de la planification des opérations
    • Fiabiliser la livraison des pièces pour remontage des moteurs
    • Optimiser les postes de travail des mécaniciens
    • Création de documents supports pour les mécaniciens (aide à la formation, gammes…)

 

Pour réussir dans ce rôle nous attendons de vous:

 

  • Formation au sein d’une école d’ingénieur par la voie de l’alternance ou équivalent en niveau BAC+5
  • Idéalement axé sur le génie industriel – Lean management – Performance industrielle
  • Niveau d’anglais intermédiaire (B1-B2) minimum. Environnement informatique en anglais. 
  • Suite Microsoft 365. Principalement Excel et les Macro-VBA serai un plus.
  • Avoir des notions sur les grands principes de l’Amélioration Continue (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen)
  • Notions sur l’utilisation d’un ERP serai un plus. 
  • Compétences techniques générales en mécanique. 
  • Avoir une aisance relationnelle. Être capable d’interagir facilement avec l’ensemble de l’organisation est capital.
  • Être autonome et avoir l’esprit d’initiative. Aimer travailler en équipe. 
  • Avoir le goût du terrain. Aimer apprendre au côté des collaborateurs. Avoir l’esprit critique et être force de proposition.
  • Avoir une sensibilité pour la production industrielle et envisager un plan de carrière dans ce domaine serait un réel atout.
