We are hiring a 

 

Mechanical Engineer 

 

for a permanent contract at our Surgères site (150 employees), which specializes in the reconditioning of high-speed engines serving as emergency diesel generator to Nuclear power Plants worldwide.

 

What you will be doing 


As a member of the Obsolescence Projects department, you will play a key role in the obsolescence surveillance and obsolescence resolution.

 

Your main activities will be to:

 

  • Manage obsolescence survey to identify obsolete parts and anticipate future obsolescence cases,
  • Prepare and present to Customers obsolescence survey reports,
  • Manage "Technical Request" from creation to closure in order to identify, register, track and solve obsolescence cases,
  • Setup the validation plan in cooperation with the Technical department,
  • As appropriate, support the Sales Department with the preparation of offers to Customers or support our Strategic Purchasers Team for business investment cases,
  • Write Technical Bulletins for our customers to declare obsolescence and technical changes, with recommendations for a Safety Stock or Last Buy order when applicable,
  • Drive standard obsolescence resolution projects from initiation to closure,
  • Coordinate resources in order to ensure continuous progress and meet project milestones and targets,
  • Proactively manage the resolution of obsolescence in cooperation with the Supply Chain and the Technical Department,
  • Participate in technical meetings with Customers to capture their needs and share the projects progress,
  • Coordinate internal stakeholders (Technical Service, Qualification Department, Project Management, Supply, Contract Management team, Sales),
  • Assist the related Purchaser to ensure Wärtsilä requirements are properly cascaded to suppliers and correctly considered,
  • Monitor technical developments in our engines, including developments due to obsolescence management,
  • Monitor the updating of nomenclatures in cooperation with the Master Data Engineer,
  • Monitor state of the art of manufacturing processes and technologies to propose new solutions,
  • Synthesize and capitalize on feedback from our customers,
  • Regularly report to Obsolescence Project manager the projects situation.
  • You will be working in cooperation with various departments of our Organization such as Qualification, Product, and Technical Management, Supply, Sales, Workshop.

 

To be successful in this role we expect you to have the following skills: 

 

  • 5 years' higher education or equivalent in a technical field,
  • experience in an industrial environment (preferably nuclear, aeronautical or automotive),
  • knowledge in manufacturing processes of mechanical parts,
  • excellent analytical and summarizing skills,
  • ability to work within a project team,
  • good level of English (written and spoken),
  • at ease with IT tools (Pack Office, ideally SAP),
  • able to put forward suggestions for improving existing operating methods,
  • you show values and rigor to work in Nuclear environment and related processes,
  • available to travel and meet Customers and Suppliers (20%)

Ce que vous ferez


En tant que membre du département des Projets d'Obsolescence, vous jouerez un rôle clé dans la surveillance et la résolution de l'obsolescence.

 

Vos principales activités seront de:

 

  • Gérer la surveillance d'obsolescence pour identifier les pièces obsolètes et anticiper les futurs cas d'obsolescence,
  • Préparer et présenter aux clients les rapports d'obsolescence,
  • Gérer les "Demandes Techniques" de la création à la clôture afin d'identifier, enregistrer, suivre et résoudre les cas d'obsolescence,
  • Mettre en place le plan de validation en coopération avec le Département Technique,
  • Le cas échéant, soutenir le Département Commercial dans la préparation des offres aux clients ou soutenir notre équipe d'Acheteurs Stratégiques pour les demandes  d'investissement,
  • Rédiger des Bulletins Techniques pour nos clients afin de déclarer l'obsolescence et les changements techniques, avec des recommandations pour un stock de sécurité ou une commande de dernier achat lorsque cela est applicable,
  • Conduire des projets de résolution d'obsolescence standard de l'initiation à la clôture,
  • Coordonner les ressources afin d'assurer la progression le respect des jalons planning et des objectifs du projet,
  • Gérer de manière proactive la résolution de l'obsolescence en coopération avec la chaîne d'approvisionnement et le Département Technique,
  • Participer à des réunions techniques avec les clients pour comprendre leurs besoins et partager l'avancement des projets,
  • Coordonner les parties prenantes internes (Service Technique, Département de Qualification, Gestion de Projet, Approvisionnement, Contrats, Ventes),
  • Assister l'acheteur pour assurer que les exigences de Wärtsilä sont correctement transmises aux fournisseurs et prises en compte,
  • Surveiller les développements techniques de nos moteurs, y compris les développements dus à la gestion de l'obsolescence,
  • Surveiller la mise à jour des nomenclatures en coopération avec l'Ingénieur des Données de Référence,
  • Surveiller l'état de l'art des processus et technologies de fabrication pour proposer de nouvelles solutions,
  • Synthétiser et capitaliser sur les retours de nos clients,
  • Rapporter régulièrement au chef de projet Obsolescence l’avancement des projets.

 

Vous travaillerez en coopération avec divers départements de notre organisation tels que Bureau d’Etudes, Achats, Approvisionnement, Ventes, Atelier.

 

Pour réussir dans ce rôle, nous attendons de vous:
 

  • 5 ans d'études supérieures ou équivalent dans un domaine technique,
  • une expérience dans un environnement industriel (de préférence nucléaire, aéronautique ou automobile),
  • la connaissance des processus de fabrication de pièces mécaniques,
  • d’excellentes compétences analytiques et de synthèse,
  • la capacité à travailler au sein d'une équipe projet,
  • un bon niveau d'anglais (écrit et parlé),
  • à l'aise avec les outils informatiques (Pack Office, idéalement SAP),
  • force de proposition pour optimiser les méthodes de fonctionnement existantes,
  • de la rigueur dans le suivi et la prise de décisions dans un environnement nucléaire et les processus associés dans le respect des règles de notre entité,
  • disponible pour voyager et rencontrer les clients et les fournisseurs (20%).
