Parts and Field Service is now looking for an enthusiastic Field Service Superintendent to join our skilled team in North America.

What will you be doing?

 

As a Field Service Superintendent, E&A, you will perform field service activities according to the work plan specifically concerning LNG/DF 4-stroke driven installations with Wärtsilä equipment, such as Engine Control systems, Power Management Systems (PMS), Connectivity devices (HMI, Firewalls, and Servers), and general Vessel Automation.

 

This position reports to the General Manager Field Service Resources.

 

Wärtsilä, a SMART technology company, is seeking the ideal candidate to join our fast- paced, high performance Field Service Operations coordination team (AMER). Candidates are expected to display a high level of critical thinking and reasoning skills, identify as high performers, as well as being self-motivating.

 

Accountabilities:

 

  • Responsible for performing complex and advanced troubleshooting on specific equipment and equipment families in relation to Wärtsilä systems.
  • Acts as a service engineer for complex marine installations and as a system specialist for assisting commissioning engineer to lead product related commissioning activities as required.
  • Responsible for performing complex and advanced Tuning adjustments on Wartsila's advanced portfolio of DF
  • engines, power management systems and Propulsion Control systems.
  • Ensures that work is executed according to Wärtsilä Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines and customer-site procedures.
  • Proactively advises and promotes available products and solutions to customers.
  • Responsible for building and supporting internal and external stakeholders concerning specific natural gas engines, dual fuel engines, LNG equipment like LNGPac, Dual Fuel technology, IAS-related system, WECS, UNIC, LT7000, etc.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Interact professionally with customers during the work execution.
  • Perform internal and external progress status of the assigned work.
  • Creating the Service Work Reports.
  • Ensure that the work is executed according to Wärtsilä QEHS guidelines and site procedures.
  • Follow-up and report on the status of work orders to customers and/or internal stakeholders.
  • Continuously seek solutions according to best practices.

  • Good ability to cooperate and communicate with other people & Good command of English, both oral and written
  • Experience with various PLCs (Siemens, Schneider, etc) and SCADA-based systems.

Travel Requirements:

 

This position requires a 70% travel commitment, encompassing both domestic and international, including onshore and offshore locations. The role demands adaptability to varying travel demands, with an expectation of extended periods away from the primary work location. Prospective candidates should be prepared to fulfill these travel obligations as an integral aspect of the position's responsibilities.

 

For applicants that reside in BC, the annual salary wage range is $46.00 CAD - $53.00 CAD.

 

The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate’s relevant education, individual skill set, level of experience applicable to the role they are being offered and consideration of internal equity.
