SLS Field Service Engineer

We are looking for a Field Service Engineer, SLS to join our dynamic, fast-paced Shaft Line Services team. This position requires up to 60% travel globally, and candidates must be able to meet the physical demands required. 

As a Field Service Engineer, SLS, you will focus on these responsibilities:
·       Perform Field Service activities according to the work scope.

·       Perform overhauls and repairs on assemblies on site and/or in workshops.
·       Interact professionally with customers during the work execution.
·       Provide internal and external progress status updates.
·       Create Service Work Reports.
·       Ensure that the work is executed according to Wärtsilä QEHS guidelines and site procedures.
·       Continuously seek solutions in accordance to best practises.
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

·       2-3 years minimum of working on Shaft Seals or marine propulsion systems.
·       Experience in propulsion shaft alignment and vibrations beneficial.
·       Experience of working with electrical systems beneficial.
·       Hydraulics & system automation experience is an asset.
·       A safety-first mindset.
·       Excellent customer communication skills
·       Relevant technical education or qualifications as a combination of education and experience.
·       Technical experience in marine engineering with practical problem-solving skills.
·       Proven experience of installation operation, maintenance and repair.
·       Highly effective technical communication skills, both written and verbal
·       Ability to interact professionally and deliver solutions to customers during the work execution.
·       Working knowledge of Microsoft office suite.
·       Must be fluent in English (written & verbal), other languages are helpful but not required.
·       Spanish language (Verbal) skills are an asset.
·       If you are not located in the US you must be willing to relocate.
·       Will be required to have or to obtain a valid Passport for travel, both international and domestic, for travel up to 75% of the time.

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.  Eligibility to participate in: the discretionary incentive plan assigned to the level of position upon offer of employment; medical, dental and vision coverage, 401(k) / RRSP plan and flexible spending accounts, subject to plan terms; Company-paid benefits such as life insurance, short- and long-term disability, subject to applicable waiting periods.  Paid time off (PTO) is accrued on a per-pay period basis in accordance with tenure in the Company; a new hire can expect 17 days per year. Twelve (12) Company-paid holidays.
