Strategic Purchaser

For our Strategic Purchasing Team in Parts Services, we are looking for a motivated Strategic Purchaser in Frauenfeld, Switzerland

As a member of the 2-Stroke team you report to the Manager Purchasing. You will be responsible for enabling a smooth international Supply Chain. Besides ensuring top service level in the daily business, you also contribute actively to further develop the 2-Stroke spare parts business.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Supply chain engineering for better processes and simplified product structure
  • Manage and/or develop supply performance to meet set targets for quality, delivery time, cost and lead time
  • Review and verify technical specifications and requirements as basis for request for quotations in cooperation with engineering organisations
  • Negotiate, create and maintain supply contracts with suppliers and communicate results to the internal stakeholders in defined area of responsibility and/or handle supplier relations to maintain, improve and develop performance in supplier and related processes
  • Maintain supply data to relevant systems in defined area of responsibility
  • Participate in the creation of the category strategy and/or action plan and its implementation
  • Participate in or execute supplier audits and follow-up the audit action plan
  • Secure supplier capacity to meet future demands
  • Execute and/or support supplier selection
  • Participate in make or buy decision making
  • Proactively work to enable cross-divisional, cross-organisational and supplier cooperation
  • Gather and analyse spend and supplier data as well as execute benchmarking to continuously improve and enhance the supplier network
  • Supplier Relationship Management & Supplier Risk Management

 

Requirements:

We are looking for a team-oriented self-starter with profound service mind-set and a keen ability to take an active role in improving the performance in the dynamic environment of our spare parts business. Close cooperation with various stakeholders and eagerness to make a difference are required to be successful in this position.

  • You have a solid technical background with further education in business administration (BSc or equivalent)
  • Several years of experience in international sourcing
  • Ability to think and act on a strategic level
  • Ability to maintain the strategic overview while at the same time supporting the operational process
  • Excellent communicator with team working skills, target and result oriented
  • Fluent in both written and oral business English
  • Contract knowledge with basic legal background is preferred
  • Willingness to travel
