Join Wärtsilä Energy Storage & Optimisation (ES&O) for the opportunity to help drive strategy and growth for our global energy storage business. We are seeking a talented energy marketing professional for the Marketing & Communications Manager, MEA role to partner in the development and implementation of regional marketing initiatives across the project and customer lifecycle.
Working within our ES&O team, we are looking for a leader who can guide, mentor, and support our continually growing localised marketing efforts in Australia and the MEA region, with a timely and successful execution of strategies. You will work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to drive seamless functional marketing strategy, including regional leaders, product developers, and the sales team.
We are looking for a creative and energetic change-maker comfortable providing hands-on management of projects as a key contributor to major initiatives. Attention to detail and a highly organised personality, along with the ability to grasp and translate technical concepts, is crucial.
Your main responsibilities are
- Works with regional marketing leadership, Sales, Business Development and communication professionals to develop and execute visibility plans and tactics for the ES&O business unit, applying your understanding of the Australian (and MEA) energy market/s to support regional business strategy and teams.
- Guides teams—both technical and marketing personnel—in formulating key messages, including value proposition, differentiators, and themes. Ensures incorporation of differentiating content to external and internal assets.
- Works effectively and independently in high-pressure team environment to manage multiple tasks in parallel. Ability to quickly adapt to and communicate changes in program schedules and priorities.
- Coordination with internal/external support resources, including designers, writers, and other agency personnel.
- Consistent alignment with ES&O Sales/Marketing, plus Energy Business communication teams, on content and programs, plus product launches, to ensure integration with campaigns to drive brand visibility.
- Utilises marketing and sales metrics to help promote strategic decision-making on marketing and business development efforts.
You will shine in this role when you have:
- BA/BS or international equivalent, MA/MS/MBA a plus.
- Minimum 4-6+ years’ experience in integrated marketing, partnership marketing and/or branding for B2B marketing campaigns, with renewables marketing experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated Australian energy market and power systems experience is preferred.
- Ability to develop and drive strategy grounded in data that can create meaningful and actionable insights.
- GTM development and market-entry strategy experience preferred, particularly in developing markets.
- You are an evolving communications specialist—deeply collaborative, strategic, and creative in mindset, have proven experience in communications strategy development, and have excellent written and verbal communications skills in a variety of contexts.
- Project management skills and understanding how to manage the priorities of multiple stakeholders in a highly dynamic, complex environment. Flexibility to work across global time zones and teams.
- Demonstrated experience building relationships with and influencing internal and external stakeholders.
- Understanding of event marketing best practices and trends.
- Experience in measuring impact of digital campaigns and marketing activity.
- Experience managing a team of vendors.
