Sales Manager

Location : Sydney and Perth, Australia (with flexibility to consider other states nationwide).

Main Responsibilities:

  • Report to the General Manager, Marine Business Sales, executing sales strategies for new and existing Marine sector customers.
  • Work within capture teams to secure business; lead capture teams where required.
  • Discuss technical specifications and commercial contracts for marine products including new-builds, retrofits, agreements, and service projects.
  • Develop and be accountable for order intake and margin budgets.
  • Maintain and develop customer relationships; identify new prospects.
  • Plan and implement customer visits.
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries, orders, and complaints.
  • Monitor sales processes, invoicing accuracy, and payment timeliness.
  • Maintain CRM records (Salesforce).
  • Collect market intelligence and competitor information.
  • Identify customer needs and initiate product/service development.
  • Communicate customer values internally.
  • Prepare visit reports and support receivables collection.

 

Requirements:

  • BSc in Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years technical sales experience in the Marine industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Wärtsilä New Build Marine solutions.
  • Solid understanding of Wärtsilä Life Cycle Products & Services
  • Understanding decarbonization and subsequent legislative impact is seen as benefit.
