We’re seeking a versatile and innovative Software Solutions Engineer to join our team of controls and software experts. What You’ll Do

As an Software Solutions Engineer, you’ll bridge the gap between our standard software offerings and the unique control requirements of each energy storage project. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing software for project-specific or customer-specific needs beyond our standard product scope

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve challenges in networking, energy delivery, runtime performance, usability, and automation

  • Creating novel tools to support commissioning teams during project delivery

  • Providing ongoing support for deployed projects

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a strong software engineering generalist with a background in energy systems and control engineering. You should have:

  • A degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field

  • Experience with control systems, substations, power plants, and transmission systems

  • Familiarity with SCADA standards and products

  • Basic programming skills in Java, JavaScript, and Python

  • Networking knowledge (VLAN, NAT, switches, routers)

  • Understanding of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, DNP3, OPC DA/UA)

  • Passion for renewable energy and grid code compliance (IEEE 1547)

  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP and cybersecurity in industrial control systems

  • Experience with Linux OS, Java development, and software tools like Jira, Git, and Confluence

  • Familiarity with SSH, tunneling, Docker, and Kubernetes

  • Ability to create technical diagrams using ACAD or Visio

Travel & Collaboration

This role involves occasional travel (10%) to meet customers and support project delivery. Most collaboration is virtual, allowing flexibility and global reach.

The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate’s relevant education, individual skill set, level of experience applicable to the role they are being offered and consideration of internal equity.
