Superintendent Engineer - Field Services

What will you be doing:

 

As a Superintendent Engineer, your work will focus on these responsibilities:

 

  • Complete compliance with QEHS legislation and company safe working practices.
  • Timely reporting of near misses and regular review of local/global lessons learned distributions.
  • Full collaboration in achieving our common goal of zero injuries.
  • Primary performance requirement to lead the team or be part of Field service team for Installation, commissioning, overhaul and maintenance of Wartsila 4 stroke Engines, related products and it's components. This task will be at shipyard, onboard vessels, power plant , during ship voyage and our service workshop. Further performance requirement is to ensure accurate measurements, reporting, and completion of supporting documentation for service work reports.
  • Manage suppliers in location assigned for quality standards. Meet personal targets set and agreed upon under the development discussion process.
  • Liaise closely with Service Coordinator and Field Service Manager to ensure work scopes are kept within budget and specified delivery schedule.
  • Carry out proactive preventative maintenance tasks on the tools and equipment used for service works.
  • Be an integral part of the Filed Service and Workshop team. Strive to achieve common goals and customer deadlines, whereby working overtime hours may be required. Adopt a pleasant, adaptable attitude towards any "ad-hoc" duties that may be required.
  • Undergo appropriate training to gain competencies in Wartsila Products in the Energy and Marine industry.
  • In addition to the above duties and responsibilities, the post holder must be prepared to undertake such additional duties within their capabilities which may result from changing circumstances, but which may not of necessity, change the general character or level of responsibility of the position.

 

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

 

  • Have a bachelor’s in engineering / Marine engineering or equivalent.
  • Willing and available for travel (domestic and international)
  • Have a positive attitude toward job completion and teamwork
  • Work Reporting skills
  • Quality, safety & environmental skills
  • Customer understanding.
  • Fluency in written & spoken English and good in computer applications
