Technical Support Engineer

Our client, a sustainable energy company is looking for a Technical Support Engineer to join their Energy Storage and Optimization Lifecycle Management team. Seeking an individual that is passionate about energy storage and clean energy solutions to be part of this global customer-driven organization, working with high level technologies. The Technical Support Engineer will support customers by improving the technical and the operational performance of company products. The successful candidate will be familiar with energy storage systems or have experience in a related electrical field. A deep understanding of electrical hardware and electronics is required for this role. Training in battery energy storage will be provided in order to support customer projects remotely.

 

Your main responsibilities are

• Responsible for monitoring all energy storage sites across the globe

• Provide remote technical support to customers, field service and commissioning personnel

• Use proprietary software to remotely evaluate and trouble-shoot systems

• Coordinate system updates with software teams and customers

• Respond to support requests when issues are reported to helpdesk

• Document all customer requests and repairs performed

• Notify customers on status of repairs, warranty claims, software updates, etc.

• Provide energy storage training to customers and internal colleagues

• Coordinate with the lifecycle management team on service visits and warranty claims

• Periodically conduct field service visits to sites to resolve critical issues

• Generate monthly reports for assigned projects

• Participate in the 24/7 on-call rotation

 

You will shine in this role when you have:

• Bachelor’s Degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or related field or  

   equivalent work experience

• 5 years of experience with electrical hardware or electronics

• Excellent communication and documentation skills

• Domestic and international travel required (approx. 10-40%)

• Experience maintaining customer relationships on multiple projects

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with:

  • Energy storage systems
  • Lithium-ion Battery chemistries
  • Grid-scale renewable energy systems

• Familiarity with Programmable Logic Control (PLC programming)

• Familiarity with industrial cooling systems

• Australian Electrical license considered a plus
