Electrical Maintenance Supervisor

Electrical Maintenance Supervisor


We are now looking for an Electrical Maintenance Supervisor to join our team in Tasiast, Mauritania. The Successful candidate will report to the Maintenance Manager.


What will you be doing?

  • Responsible for the maintenance and repair of all instruments, electrical equipment in the power plant, PLC control systems and its associated facilities.  Perform work of high skill in the repair, inspection, testing, adjustment, installation and removal of all electronic and electrical plant equipment and systems.  Supervise Electrical Technicians.
  • Responsible for all activities related to the maintenance management of the HFO engine power plant inclusive of planning and implementation of plant maintenance.
  • Manage assigned maintenance responsibilities in accordance with Wärtsilä Services guidelines in a safe and proactive way to exceed the management expectations
  • Supervise the technicians in performing preventive maintenance duties on all major equipment and systems, including emergency backup systems.
  • Oversee the inspection, repair, installation, and removal of all types of motors, generators, transformers, switches, control equipment, Relay testing, wiring, electrical signal and communication systems and storage batteries.
  • Up keeping the software Backup data of all the required equipment and collecting the backup of the equipment, such as WOIS, PLC, AVR etc.. On regular basis with the help of service engineers if required
  • Maintaining the plant communication system healthy.
  • Maintain equipment files, logs and drawings for all designated equipment
  • Complete other tasks as requested by the Manager - Maintenance
  • Develop and implement training program for subordinates
  • Provide schedules in line with the MAXIMO system for normal operating periods, planned and forced outages to plant maintenance team and execute the work according to the schedules and the work orders generated
  • Updating the job done status to Maximo server as and when the job completed
  • Communicate effectively with the plant team related to the condition of the plant equipment and performance, and implementing the preventive and corrective action as and if necessary
  • Identify and actively seek to improve operations and maintenance, to provide operational reliability and availability, to maximize equipment life and to provide detailed feedback to Wartsila management
  • Prepare annual plant maintenance plan, tools and spares required in conjunction with the Superior
  • Analysing the problems and Troubleshooting of the power plant equipment
  • Calibration of equipment with the influence WECS/UNIC software.


You will shine in this role, when you have

  • HND/ B.ENG/ B.Sc/ B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent engineering background.
  • Minimum 10 years relevant power plant experience, and minimum 5 years in a supervisory position.
  • Proven Working experience on Wärtsilä Engines is an added advantage.
  • Working experience with international companies (such as oil & gas and Power plants) being highly focused on the implementation and respect of QHSE procedure is an added advantage.
  • Perform all activities needed to reach the objectives of the position and comply with the orders, instructions, values, and company policies applicable as employee and/or the position.
  • Understanding of Wärtsilä business, quality, and workplace safety is a plus.
