We are now looking for two
 
Divers
 
to join our Las Palmas Wärtsilä Underwater services diving team. The position offers a full-time opportunity fwith a prermanent contract. The location for the position is in Las Palmas, Spain with availability for travel around the other Canary Islands and other countries.

 

What you will be doing

 

In this position, your work will include dive equipment maintenance and be part of dive team on underwater maintenance and repairs projects  On a typical day, you might be starting with  maintenance and/or  loading dive equipment to drive to diving projects  and end the day driving back, for returning to our warehouse. You will not be working on this alone, even though the work requires a high level of independency, as you will have the support all the members of the dive team and operations office.
For us to be the best match, we expect you to have understanding in commercial diving and shipping industry and experience from working on shipping diving companies. As an ideal candidate, you have gained experience as commercial diver and knowledge of the shipping maintenance and repair. For you to succeed in the position, we hope you to have a valid Spanish commercial diver certificate and fit to dive medic valid examination certificate. Valid Spanish Class C truck driving license is a plus.

 

As Diver, your work will focus on these responsibilities: 

 

  • Perform maintenance tasks on company diving and production equipment
  • Be part of our Las Palmas dive team as diver & tender
  • Work on safely and be vigilant on safety procedures and environment.
  • Get new technical skills and improve existing ones through internal and external courses.
     

To be successful in this role we expect you to have:

 

  • Spanish Commercial diving valid certification.
  • Fit to dive by hyperbaric doctor certificate
  • Teamwork capability
  • Good English communication skills
  • Spanish truck category C valid license it is not mandatory for this position but it is a plus
     

In this role, some travel is required to work together with part of other offices on some international projects , and for some specific technical training.
