Service Coordinator / Operations Officer

at Wartsila Underwater Services


We are now looking for a Service Coordinator / Operations Officer to join our Netherlands Shaft Line Solutions Operations team located in Terneuzen, the Netherlands.


What will you be doing?


In this position, your work will include:

 

  • Schedule the projects which are in our order book.
  • Appoint our services teams for our underwater and afloat projects. This can be small 1-day maintenance projects or long-term repair projects.
  • Liaise with local authorities/terminals/contractors to arrange permission and plan each project in detail.
  • Logistic arrangements for personnel and equipment from our NL office to the various project locations around the world.
  • Reporting during and after the project.
  • Gather all costs and create the invoice breakdown.

 

For us to be the best match, we expect you to have time management and planning skills. If you have working experience in the maritime industry, that would be a plus. As an ideal candidate, you have gained planning/coordination experience from previous roles. For you to succeed in the position, we require your English written/spoken language to be good, you are familiar with Microsoft Office, and you have a technical background related to the Maritime industry.

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

 

  • A safety-first mindset. 
  • Technical education or equivalent qualifications as a combination of education and experience. 
  • Experience   in a customer-facing role with responsibility for collating costs and invoices.
  • Excellent organisational skills and customer empathy. 
  • Good time management skills.
  • Strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
  • Demonstrable team working skills and the ability to adjust and re-plan in dynamic situations. 
  • A working knowledge and commercial administration processes. 
  • You are passionate about the SLS business and willing to drive it to the next level.
  • Experience in Marine Industry.
  • Ability to work in multicultural/international business environments.
  • Self-driven and motivated with a continuous learning ability.
  • Openness & willingness to adapt to change.
  • Familiar with using of Microsoft WORD/ EXCEL/ PPT/ CRM.     
  • Fluent in English is mandatory.
  • Living or willing to relocate within driving distance of our office in Terneuzen Netherlands.
  • Have a valid European work permit permitting to work in the Netherlands.
