Workshop Technician

You help keep global marine operations moving — and you directly contribute to the smooth delivery of underwater services that our colleagues and customers depend on.

We are now looking for a Workshop Technician to join our team on a permanent basis at our site in Terneuzen, Netherlands.

 

Your work will focus on these responsibilities:

 

  • Carrying out daily workshop tasks inclusive of maintenance work on (but not limited to) hydraulic and electrical equipment, power tools, generators and compressors in a proactive way to ensure the ongoing reliability of our equipment
  • Tracking of equipment movements in and out of the workshop, ensuring complete visibility.
  • Perform installation and commissioning checks of operations equipment and plants.
  • Support effective stock management by restocking spare parts and consumables, handling equipment orders, and maintaining clear, accurate documentation.
  • Ensure all workshop activities are compliant with safety and quality standards are met and are also in line with Wärtsilä’s Quality, Health and Safety and Environment (QHSE) standards.
  • Keep the workshop safe, organised, and fully operational, maintaining a workspace that supports efficient and reliable service delivery.
  • Stay updated on with relevant industry and local legal regulations pertaining to maintenance and certification of equipment and plants.
  • Play a key part in the team’s success, contributing to shared goals and meeting customer requirements and therefore occasionally supporting overtime where required.
  • Liaise closely with the Workshop team to ensure scope of works are kept within the specified delivery schedule and supporting with onsite stock management

 

 

To be successful you will have:

 

  • A technical background in mechanical, electrical, marine or industrial maintenance or equivalent experience in maintenance, inspection, and repair in workshop or industrial environments.
  • Working knowledge of maintenance management systems and asset tracking.
  • Good technical, problem solving skills coupled with troubleshooting capability.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to quality, health, safety and environmental standards
  • Computer literate with knowledge and use of MS Office applications, SAP is a plus.
  • Sufficient level of English for technical and company documentation.
