Project Manager, Voyage

We are looking for Project Manager, Voyage in Japan. This is a permanent opportunity and its location is primarily Tokyo, Japan


What will you be doing:
As Project Manager, Voyage, your work will focus on following responsibilities:

 

  • Key point of contact between customers and Wartsila Voyage
  • Scoping, planning, coordination and execution of Wartsila voyage portfolio projects in Japan
  • Management of compliance and certification for related products which require regulatory approvals
  • Local technical customer support, working with subject matter experts in Europe to support our customers
  • Influencing and management of government and regulatory stakeholders where required
  • Promote business development and sales & marketing activities. This may include preparing quotations and proposals and supporting the sales managers where required

  

To be successful in this role, we expect you to:

 

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Marine engineering related fields
  • Excellent verbal and written English proficiency
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Native-level Japanese verbal and written proficiency
  • 5+ years relevant project management experience, preferably in the marine industry 
  • Relevant commercial (contracts and purchasing) experience
  • An understanding of the Japanese marine ecosystem is high desirable
  • Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed project team
