Expert, Rubber Production

We are looking for Expert, Rubber Production, Shaft Line Solutions, Marine Systems in Japan. This is a permanent opportunity and its location is Toyama, Japan.

What will you be doing:

This role is aimed for the development and evaluation of a new formulation of rubber material suitable for seal rings within Shaft Line Solutions Japan.


As Expert, Rubber Production, your work will focus on these responsibilities:

  • Perform development projects or tasks in cooperation with other Wärtsilä organizations, suppliers, and external expert organization.
  • Create technical solutions and ensure they are applied in new designs.
  • Participate in planning of the development project deliveries and scope in assigned expertise area.
  • Report project status and results with adequate conclusions and recommendations.
  • Acquire know-how and follow up the latest global development trends of respective focus area.
  • Develop and maintain instructions, guidelines and related databases.
  • Provide technical expertise within Wärtsilä.
  • Support R&D experts and help them in problem solving on assigned expertise area.
  • Support colleagues and internal partners in the decisions making.
  • Ensure that designs adhere to respective rules and regulations.
  • Reporting / analysis / document management

 

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

  • BSc. in Organic & Polymer Chemistry and other related disciplines.
  • Knowledge of organic chemistry, polymer chemistry, analytical chemistry, etc., and are particularly familiar with fluorine-based materials.
  • Experience and knowledge of synthesis in fluororubber
  • Experience in designing and developing oil seal products
  • Technical troubleshooting knowledge
  • Knowledge of intellectual property rights
  • Knowledge of technology development IT applications
  • Familiar with product lifecycle methods
