HR Business Partner, Marine Systems

Job Title: HR Business Partner, Asia Pacific

We are looking for an HR Business Partner to support the people priorities of our businesses in the Asia Pacific region. The position reports to Lead HR Business Partner and the preferred locations for this position are Japan (Toyama, Kobe, or Tokyo) or Korea (Busan). In this role, you will support leaders to turn business requirements into people priorities.
 

What will you be doing:
As HR Business Partner, Asia Pacific, your work will focus on these responsibilities:
• Partnering with the Marine Systems HR Team to translate business strategy to concrete and impactful people priorities focusing on Region Asia Pacific.
• Supporting assigned leaders to implement business level people priorities and Wärtsilä people processes and communication regarding people topics.
• Proactively engaging in dialogue with other HR colleagues regarding business needs and requirements, facilitating collaboration when needed.
• Supporting change projects with people impact and ways of working to secure effective implementation.
• Actively contributing in the culture and talent development, for example by identifying and removing obstacles for high performance in region.
• Coaching assigned leaders in their leadership and supporting in team development.

 

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
• As an ideal candidate for this position you will have a degree preferably in HR Management, Psychology, Pedagogy, Leadership, or other relevant field supported by 5-7 years’ experience in diverse HR generalist roles.
• Experience working in a local and regional level as well as experience as business. management team member will be beneficial for you to succeed in this position.
• Knowledge of area/region employment practices and legislation.
• Fluent in spoken, and written English
• Fluent in spoken, and written Japanese

• Demonstrates Wärtsilä values and related behaviours
• Has a good understanding of HR processes and how those connect to business needs
• Is able to facilitate change and support the team in creating high performance
• Has a positive can-do attitude, solution orientation and customer service mind-set
• Has facilitation and coaching skills
