At the initial stage, the successful candidate will focus on understanding production planning operations and executing planning and coordination tasks centered on existing processes.
Over time, the candidate is expected to independently drive planning and improvement initiatives, becoming a core member who is consulted and relied upon by related departments.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in project management
  • Practical experience in data aggregation and analysis using Excel
  • Fluent communication skills in Japanese (both spoken and written)
  • Experience working in English, or no resistance to using English in daily work
  • Ability to identify issues in ongoing operations, analyze them using data, and propose improvements

Purpose of the Position

  • This position aims to support improved accuracy in business and production planning, as well as stable production execution, through planning control, order management, and data analysis, based on a solid understanding of production planning operations.
  • In the future, the role is expected to independently lead planning initiatives in collaboration with related departments and to serve as a key member within the organization by providing data-driven analysis and improvement proposals.

 

Key Responsibilities

1. Planning Management

  • Development and management of annual and mid-term plans, including progress and performance tracking
  • Formulation of production plans and adjustment of workload and delivery schedules
  • Analysis of variances between planned and actual results and proposal of corrective actions
  • Preparation and presentation of planning and performance-related materials

 

2. Cost Management and Order Management

  • Incorporation of parts orders (stock management) into planning
  • Organization of NB (New Build) and Retrofit order information and reflection into production plans
  • Support for quotation preparation and clarification of planning assumptions
  • Improvement of planning accuracy through BOM registration and configuration management
  • Monitoring plan execution status through production order creation and control

 

3. Data Management and Analysis

  • Management and maintenance of planning and actual performance data
  • Data extraction and aggregation from SAP and other systems
  • Visualization and analysis using Power BI and related tools

 

 

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience contributing to annual and mid-term planning processes
  • Hands-on experience with business systems such as SAP and Power BI
  • Ability to communicate and coordinate smoothly with related departments from a broad perspective
  • Strong interest in problem-solving, a solution-oriented mindset, implementation capability, and persistence in follow-up activities to ensure sustainability
  • Willingness to continuously learn and grow
  • Experience in projects within multinational companies and overseas production environments (machinery manufacturing industry)
  • Experience in the marine industry
  • Ability to adapt to change
