We are now looking for a
Project Coordinator - Strategic Projects
to join our SLS team. The position is permanent and the preferred location is Toyama or Tokyo, Japan.
As Project Coordinator in the Strategic Projects team, you will play a key role in driving internal SLS initiatives, supporting change management efforts, and ensuring structured execution, clear communication, and strong alignment across global teams. You will collaborate closely with our factories and global functions worldwide.
In this role, your work will focus on the following responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional initiatives, including product development, operational efficiency, quality improvements, sustainability actions and regulatory readiness topics.
- Translate business needs into structured project plans, ensuring clear scope, objectives, timelines, resources and success criteria.
- Structure and follow up projects: milestones, risks, and actions, ensuring clarity and transparency across stakeholders.
- Facilitate communication between the different SLS teams, ensuring alignment and removing ambiguity.
- Prepare materials and facilitate management reviews, steering discussions and decision-making.
- Lead or support multicultural workstreams, encouraging open communication and structured problem-solving.
- Help ensure consistent use of tools, templates and governance models across teams.
- Foster a continuous improvement culture, supporting the organisation on its journey to more standardised, efficient and data‑driven ways of working.
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
- 2–5 years of experience in coordination, project support, operational development, engineering environments or similar roles, ideally with some exposure to agile or iterative ways of working.
- Good communication skills and a sufficient level of English (spoken and written) to work effectively in a multicultural and cross‑site environment, both independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive working style, organisation skills, and the ability to drive tasks independently while contributing effectively in collaborative settings.
- Good understanding of business processes or interest in learning them (e.g., operations, engineering, quality, product development), including elements of change management in internal initiatives.
- High proficiency in IT tools (Microsoft 365); experience with project management tools is an advantage.
- A positive mindset, willingness to learn, and potential for future leadership responsibility.
Some travel may be required (up to 10%), although most collaboration is virtual.
