Data Analyst and Tool Developer


In our Demand & Supply Management function, our main objectives are 1) to generate overall demand plan for Field Services & Workshops coming from different value chains 2) sense and ensure that line organisation creates a supply plan to meet the needs in terms of competence and capacity availability. By building a data-driven approach, the goal is to help the organization make more informed decisions when planning the service delivery to our customers. We are looking for a team player with strong interpersonal skills, good analytical thinking and adaptable to join our Demand & Supply Management team in Italy. This is a temporary position for 12 months and will be located in Trieste, Italy.


What will you be doing?


In this role your main responsibilities are:
•    Design, develop and maintain tools for data visualization related to demand and supply planning processes in Field Services and Workshops business environment.
•    Scrutinises information using data analysis tools and different techniques, present the meaningful results pulled from the raw data to help organisation to base important decisions by identifying various facts and trends.
•    Help the organisation becoming data driven by creating tools and reporting to enable discussions around the process performance in smart and effective way.
•    Supporting the deployment phase, training end-users, writing system/user instructions.
•    Maintenance of tools and admin role for dashboard users’ lists.
•    Develop analysing algorithms, create ad-hoc software programming, debugging.
•    Act as technical interface in case of software development is outsourced to partners.
•    Elaborate early feasibility study and proof of concept for new development.
•    Become a champion in promoting analytics approach and share knowhow outside own function.

As an ideal candidate, you will have following qualifications:
•    Knowledge of the maritime service industry is seen as an advantage.
•    Working experience in multinational and complex environment.
•    Results and targets oriented mind-set.
•    Understanding of resource planning processes in global settings is a plus.
•    Strong data analytical experience and problem solving.
•    Excellent attention to detail but able to form the big picture with regards to data and facts.
•    Capable to work independently and in a team, also in remote context.
•    Proactive and action oriented.
•    Junior or master degree in technical-scientific subjects.
•    Must have skills
     o    Structured Query Language (SQL)
     o    Microsoft 365 (Excel, Power BI, Power Point etc.)
     o    Critical Thinking
     o    R or Python-Statistical Programming
     o    Data Visualization 
     o    Presentation Skills
     o    Machine Learning

In this role, your success will be measured by:
•    Report usage metrics.
•    User experience and feedback.
•    Ability to meet requirements concerning the design and delivery of tools, reporting and dashboards.
