We are looking for a Development Manager with a main responsibility in translating users' needs in users’ stories and coordinating the developments of those in the workshop digital platform. The resource should also act as subject matter expert and be capable to introduce the logics to new developers.

 

The preferred location for this position is in Trieste, Italy but also other Wärtsilä Hubs in Europe are negotiable.

 

In this position, remote working is an option too. 

 

Your role and responsibilities 

 

As a Development Manager your work will include:

 

  • Manage system development in collaboration with the external software developer.
  • Review the business requirements and translate it to technical specifications.
  • Test and validate with the business the developments done.
  • Create documentation for end users.
  • Further develop and adapt the workshop digitalization road map.

 

The tasks can also be adjusted based on your individual skills and interests. You’ll be working as a part of the Workshop Digitalization team with diverse expertise.

 

Requirements for the position

 

  • MSC in Software Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or qualified by equivalent experience.
  • Working knowledge of web applications, such as Java Spring Boot, Angular and Python.
  • Working knowledge of cloud platform (Azure, AWS).
  • Practical understanding of database programming (both Relational and Non-relational database). 
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical engineering is a plus.

  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills, who engages and collaborates with others to deliver results.
  • Demonstrable ability to work autonomously without being prompted.
  • Aptitude for learning.
  • Fluent in English both verbal and written.
  • Occasional travel (approx. 10-20%).
