Manager, Business Development - Decarbonisation

We are looking for an inspiration and highly energetic person for the position of Manager, Business Development to be focusing on our Decarbonisation path.

 

What will you be doing?

As a part of Marine Power, you will be working in the Project Services Business Unit. You will be a key member of a team focused on profitable growth of our retrofit projects business that is focused on improved efficiency and decarbonisation of our customers assets; in alignment with our Smart Marine Strategy. You will be part of the Business Development team, responsible for creating commercial packages of our solutions with strong value propositions that address customers' needs, then developing the sales pipeline with Sales and customer co-creation.

In this position you are reporting to Director, Business Development in Project Services and the location of the position open.

 

As Manager, Business Development Decarbonisation, your work will focus on these responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement roadmap for strategic Business Development targets focusing on turning the Smart Marine Strategy into tangible offering
  • Define a Business Unit strategic position in the upcoming decarbonisation regulatory frame. As such, you will be contributing in enlarging the company understanding of the market and regulatory requirements which drives the compliancy business.
  • Design the development path regarding the Decarbonisation voluntary schemes today under consideration in the marine market. A specific focus will be given to defining Project Services position in the Carbon Credit scheme or regional/global Carbon taxation schemes.
  • Build an understanding and drive the developments, in alignment with the rest of the Business Development team, related to value adding certifications which could be developed for the Project Services offering catalogue. Newly introduced decarbonisation-related standards, the value-adding activity to customers business and the evaluation process to comply with the same will be the focal subject.
  • Support customers' cases simulation regarding the Project Services value-proposition lined to Decarbonisation indexes.
  • Cooperate with Project Services Sales and global Sales in building strategic customer's fleet evaluation with a consultative selling approach. In this field a strong cooperation between the different Marine Power Business Units, global sales and the capability to envision repercussions both in the newbuilding and in the retrofit market will be adding strength to the effectiveness of the opportunity.

 

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have

  • Has a proven track record in Customer's interaction. Customer Centric Approach.
  • Good understanding of the Decarbonisation market dynamics, with specific attention to the upcoming regulatory frame stimulating potential emissions-upgrades, such as the EEXI and CII.
  • Good understanding of Carbon Credits schemes, both driven by the mandatory frame and the voluntary frame.
  • Good analytical skills; proven track record in developing technical, economic and environmental-based value proposition.
  • Consultative selling approach and mindset
  • Good Communication skills
  • Good understanding of newbuilding and retrofit market supply and demand dynamics
  • International and open-minded mentality
  • Solid understanding of Wartsila offering portfolio
  • In this role, your success will be measured by Retrofit project sales pipeline growth and order intake
