Wärtsilä Italy is offering a 6 months opportunity for a trainee to support manager and department with digitalization/automation of conventional manufacturing information acquisition processes to achieve an automatic data collection process for analysis, reporting and key performance indicators evaluation.


The main activities are:


- Engineering Support to production in the development of manufacturing & process solutions, focusing on smart technologies introduction.

- Support manufacturing analytics expert in digitization of conventional processes to achieve an automatic data collection for analysis, reporting and improvements.



  • M.Sc. or B.Sc. in industrial engineering or mechanical engineering
  • Experience in prototyping and model making Basic Design Knowledge to Additive Manufacturing
  • Basic Knowledge of SQL Databases and SQL Query Writing
  • Microsoft 365 (Excel, Power BI, Power Point etc.)
  • Python programming (knowledge of Pandas library and data manipulation/Engineering will be a PLUS)
  • Critical Thinking
  • Data Visualization Presentation Skills
  • Good level of English


The workplace is located in Trieste, Italy, and the traineeship will be a combination of remote working and office working, depending on the development of the sanitary situation.
