Project Manager, South Europe&Africa Region
We are now looking for a
Project Manager, South Europe & Africa Region
to join our team working for a better future.
The position is permanent and the preferred location is Trieste, Italy.
What you will be doing
As Project Manager, Customer Delivery, your work will focus on these responsibilities:
- Managing project processes and activities, ensuring clear roles and responsibilities within the team
- Contributing to teamwork and maintaining good cooperation, challenging others constructively and respecting diverse viewpoints - In this respect we expect to have a job induction based on following pillars that will support more senior project managers in their current duties
- Delivery documentation, packing lists and Purchase order analysis
- Identification and flagging goods entrance with main customer warehouse responsible
- Certificates flagging with main customer documentation responsible and technical office
Variation of orders follow-up:
- Delivery documentation, packing lists and purchase order analysis
- Creation of shipments in accordance with Customer urgencies (especially in commissioning phase)
- Completion of work monitoring and signing process in case of additional activities are included in the scope
- Control of IPI documentation and verification of alignment with the dates of DDS and FC requests
- Verification of the payment plan and related deadlines
- Help on verification of various approval steps of payments from Customers
Spares and tools correctness and delivery:
- Contractual requirements check/tools and spares list check
- Tools and spares list check and update during project execution due to product owner updates
- Spare parts and tools delivery check/confirmation
Other activities are:
- Producing logical and structured reports with correct terminology and providing regular follow-up
- Uncovering customer needs and constraints to fully understand requirements and ensure Wärtsilä adds value
- Understanding total project costs and providing input to secure or improve project margins
- Organizing and prioritizing your own work effectively, understanding time management principles, and seeking input from stakeholders efficiently
- Identifying problems/risks proactively and involving teams/experts in the problem-solving process, planning and executing agreed actions
- Participating in change initiatives and continuous improvement, understanding the importance of communication related to change
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
- Languages: Good English (can communicate in daily work-related situations, participate in discussions on day-to-day topics, express opinions, and produce clear written text)
- Information Management: Main Wärtsilä IT applications - Good (Good knowledge of applications needed in daily work, can give feedback on development, and train newcomers)
- Communication skills: Good (Seeks to understand others' needs and perspectives, involves team members, builds networks, shows cultural sensitivity, communicates ideas clearly, and gives constructive criticism)
- Negotiation skills: Good (Recognizes and applies different negotiating styles and techniques persistently)
- Presentation skills and meeting facilitation skills: Good (Capable of giving assertive presentations with relevant terminology and background information, managing tools, guiding discussions, and answering related questions)
- Reporting: Good (Capable of producing reports with correct terminology and background information, providing regular follow-up)
- Customer Understanding: Good (Able to uncover customer needs, understand how own work meets requirements, communicate professionally with customers, and provide customer feedback to the organization)
- Financial knowledge: Good (Basic understanding of total project costs, ability to provide input to secure or improve project margin, and understanding of how projects impact the company's business)
- Organising and self-management: Good (Good at organizing and prioritizing own work, understanding time management, and efficiently seeking input from stakeholders)
- Teamwork and Teambuilding: Good (Ability to contribute to teamwork, maintain good cooperation, challenge constructively, respect diversity, and has basic knowledge of leading a team)
- Strategic planning and target setting: Good (Good understanding of Wärtsilä’s business strategy, strategic thinking capability, and defines action plans in line with strategy)
- Change management: Good (Participates in change initiatives, understands communication importance, and can manage a change management process end-to-end with satisfactory results)
- Management and Leadership skills: Good (Plans work processes, gains agreement by influencing, allocates resources, delegates tasks, motivates others, and manages work processes)
- Problem solving and decision making: Good (Uses experience to proactively identify problems/risks, involves teams/experts, understands stakeholder buy-in, and plans/executes agreed actions)
- Coaching: Good (Can coach and act as a role model, is unbiased, and capable of listening to others)
