(Senior) Service Engineer / Superintendent, Mechanical

We are now looking for mechanical Service Engineers, Senior Service Engineers, or Superintendents to join our skilled Field Service Resources team in PFS Region North Europe. We encourage applicants at various levels of seniority, as the role can be adapted based on your experience. The role is offered as a permanent contract and the preferred location is Turku, Finland, but Vaasa and Espoo can also be considered.

 

 

What will you be doing?

 

As part of the Field Service Resources team, your daily work will revolve around performing Field Service activities on marine and land-based installations with Wärtsilä engines and equipment. Your focus will be delivering technical expertise and high-quality service for our customers, ensuring customer satisfaction.

 

In this exciting role, you'll have the opportunity to work internationally, travelling mainly within the Nordics for various service jobs for approximately 160 - 180 days per year. Therefore, we are looking for candidates who are ready and willing to travel, who possess a strong Field Service mindset. When you are not travelling, you will be able to work partially remotely, in line with our hybrid work model.

 

 

Your responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to: 

 

  • Performing Field Service activities according to the work scope.
  • Performing Wärtsilä product overhauls and repairs on-site and in workshops.
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction through performance and continuous interactions with customers throughout work execution.
  • Providing internal and external reports and as-built documentation.
  • Creating Service Work Reports in accordance with Wärtsilä Field Service procedures.
  • Collecting and organising time and expense reports after work completion, reporting and informing the administrative personnel as required.
  • Adhering to all safety rules and using all appropriate safety equipment, abiding by Wärtsilä QEHS guidelines, regulations, site procedures, and policies.
  • Promoting Wärtsilä products and services.
  • Actively engaging in own competence development and professional growth.

 

 

Role requirements:

 

  • BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering, similar relevant technical educational background, or qualifications as a combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of 4-stroke engine operating principles and experience with 4-stroke marine engine operations, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Ability to write technical reports and highly effective technical communication skills.
  • A safety-first mindset, ensuring that work is carried out in accordance with safety guidelines.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in close collaboration with others.
  • Proficient English and Finnish language skills, both written and spoken. Swedish language skills are beneficial.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel both domestically and internationally for service jobs approximately 160 – 180 days per year.
