Technical Services is a globally recognized technical knowledge centre within Wärtsilä. The main task of Technical Services is to provide technical support to internal and external stakeholders during the lifecycle of products and solutions delivered or serviced by Wärtsilä.


Wärtsilä Global Technical Services is now looking for a Technical  Expert to strengthen the Wärtsilä 46, 50 Gas engine team, Global Technical Services in Turku, Finland. 


You will be part of a global, innovative and customer-driven organisation working with cutting-edge technologies. We have a passion for doing right and our customers appreciate the best service in the world. The Wärtsilä 46, 50 Gas engine team in Global Technical Services provides technical support for Wärtsilä's internal and external customers. In this position, you pursue continuous improvement with the combination of your existing expertise and passion for developing yourself and the ways of working.



The location of the position is in Turku, Finland.


  • Provide high level engine expert support for internal and external customers
  • Make product improvements and product documentation, e.g. participate in the introduction of new engine types and other products
  • Perform field testing of new products in the field
  • Make feedback analyses and product reports
  • Make site surveys and troubleshooting in the field
  • Follow up and solve problems together with other Technical departments
  • You will work as innovative expert in the tip of the spear in the Wärtsilä’s expert organisation.



  • BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent education
  • Good command of English, both oral and written
  • Good skills in communication, customer orientation and self-management
  • Analysis and reporting skills 
  • Proactive, systematic and organized way of working
  • Proven experience of 4-stroke engines, related auxiliary equipment, trouble shooting and performance analyses in the field
  • Motivation and genuine interest to work with 4-stroke engines
  • Flexible attitude, openness to learn, adapting to and developing new technologies
  • Readiness to travel
