Project Engineer

We are looking for a Project Engineer with a main responsibility in managing project activities, integration engineering, and technical correspondence.
The preferred location for this position is Turku, Finland, but Helsinki and Vaasa are also negotiable. We offer the possibility of hybrid work.
Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will actively participate in negotiations, fostering strong relationships with customers, vendors, and stakeholders. You will prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor projects, identifying and solving potential issues to ensure smooth project flow and adherence to plans and budgets.
Additionally, you will take technical ownership of project solutions, overseeing the Wärtsilä scope of supply from engineering to hand-over, and ensuring compliance with project management methodologies and business directives. You will also be responsible for project-related documentation and HSEQ, in collaboration with internal support functions.
Working as part of an experienced and dynamic project team, you will gain valuable international business experience and opportunities for professional growth in a rapidly advancing industry.
Requirements for the position:
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Automation) or Process/Marine Technology
- Experience with marine industry projects, preferably from machinery
- Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Willingness to travel as needed
To be able to succeed in the position, we expect you to have:
- Attention to detail, self-driven, and motivated
- Negotiation and presentation skills
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills, also under time pressure
- Proficiency with MS Office software. Experience with SAP is seen as an advantage.
